Mike loved hockey and the friendships that developed because of the game.
By supporting the Floor Hockey event in Michael's name, it is our hope that life-long friendships will develop, friendly competition will occur and all those involved with the game will embrace life with gratitude.

"As you may already know, my brother Michael and son of Ron & Cheryl Van Ooteghem was killed in a tragic accident in Calgary, Alberta on March 3rd. In memory of Michael, his colleagues in Calgary, and friends and family from across the country are trying to raise $100,000.00 to sponsor the 2024 Calgary Special Olympics Floor Hockey event in Michael's name.
Michael was planning to volunteer with the Special Olympics this year. Unfortunately, this dream, along with all of Michael's other future plans are not to be.
It is my hope that with your help the 2024 Special Olympics Floor Hockey event in Calgary will be sponsored in honour of Mike."
A note from Mike's brother Andrew
